Dont panic if your traffic seems to have disappeared in Google AdWords
Ever had the problem where you have logged into your Google AdWords account and seen no traffic in there for your campaigns? You run around frantically checking your budgets, your ad's are all live and showing and you can even see your ad in Google Ad Preview or in the SERP's themselves?
What is going on you think? Probably just a glich in Google (you hope!) We'll actually not...
We thought we should explain why this phenomenon occurs so people dont start panicing in the early hours of the morning.
It is actually to do with the time settings on your PC and the time zone your Google account is set up as. If you are based in the UK but are doing PPC overseas, in Spain for example, then you will have your Google AdWords account set up so that it is on Spanish time zones...
If you are in the UK and have your PC set to GMT, then as Spain is currently 1 hour ahead of UK time, from 11pm until midnight you will see no traffic for your campaigns if you look at today's traffic. You can see in the screenshot below that the time on the PC is 11.21pm and is not yet midnight. As the time zone of the account is set one hour ahead, Google will report on no traffic for the day for the last hour of the day. This theory continues with how many hours in advance you have your Google AdWords account set as opposed to the time on your PC.
So point to note here is that pay attention to the time zone that your Google AdWords account is set too. Not only will it stop you panicing if you see no traffic...it is also important when setting up time targeted campaigns as these are based on the time set on the Google account, not the time on your PC.
